La città Aumentata

Augmented City è una startup innovativa barese che ha rivoluzionato il mondo della Realtà Aumentata (AR), e più in generale delle tecnologie di “spatial computing”, rendendo semplice il processo di mappatura e catalogazione degli oggetti del mondo reale, utilizzando tecnologie alla portata di tutti, come gli smartphone. Il nostro team ha sviluppato propri algoritmi, di cui detiene brevetti internazionali, attraverso i quali è possibile ricostruire un gemello digitale in scala 1:1 di una intera città, semplicemente utilizzando la fotocamera del proprio smartphone. E sempre attraverso uno smartphone o un teblet propone la fruizione di contenuti in AR che vengono costruiti con semplici applicazioni che non richiedono complesse competenze.

Augmented City ha così pubblicato una seria delle app per smart phone tra cui:

-        AC Scanner - per creare modelli 3D di grandi edifici ed ambienti (sia indoor che outdoor)

-        AC Object - per inserire informazioni, contenuti ed oggetti virtuali nel mondo reale

-        AC Viewer/AC Tourist – per osservare i contenuti in Realtà Aumentata

La piattaforma delle app principalmente è orientata al mondo del Turismo e della Formazione (ma anche ha declinazione per Industrial AR). È possibile così riconoscere monumenti, palazzi storici, luoghi di interesse storico e culturale, ma anche esercizi commerciali, ricevendo sul display informazioni sempre più approfondite su ciò che si sta osservando. Informazioni che altrimenti sarebbero inaccessibili all’osservatore, perché spesso difficili da recuperare se non attraverso un processo di ricerca.

È possibile ad esempio osservare contenuti video sulle facciate dei palazzi, oppure oggetti tridimensionali in movimento che animano virtualmente piazze e strade, oppure creare contenuti interattivi tra diversi utenti che osservano contemporaneamente la stessa scena.

Augmented.City ha già mappato parti di oltre 100 citta del pianeta, portando avanti progetti nel mondo della istruzione e della cultura, proponendo un nuovo approccio alla formazione utilizzando queste nuove tecnologie.

Con gli strumenti che Augmented City mette a disposizione, i ragazzi di diversi istituti scolastici, di ogni ordine e grado, possono mappare luoghi di loro interesse e costruire i propri contenuti per renderli fruibili a tutti gli utenti, siano questi studenti stessi, ma anche semplici cittadini che possono così approfondire le attività creative o di ricerca che le scuole stanno portando avanti.

And always through a smartphone or teblet it proposes the enjoyment of content in AR that are built with simple applications that do not require complex skills.

Augmented City has thus published a series of the smart phone apps including:

- AC Scanner - for creating 3D models of large buildings and environments (both indoor and outdoor)

- AC Object - for inserting information, content and virtual objects in the real world

- AC Viewer/AC Tourist - to observe content in Augmented Reality

The platform of apps is mainly oriented to the world of Tourism and Education (but also has declination for Industrial AR). It is thus possible to recognize monuments, historical buildings, places of historical and cultural interest, but also commercial establishments, receiving on the display more and more in-depth about what is being observed. Information that would otherwise would be inaccessible to the observer, because it is often difficult to retrieve except through a research process.

It is possible, for example for example, observe video content on building facades, or objects three-dimensional moving objects that virtually animate squares and streets, or create interactive content among several users simultaneously observing the same scene.

Augmented.City has already mapped parts of more than 100 cities on the planet, carrying out projects in the world of education and culture, proposing a new approach to education using these new technologies.
